Beer Nouveau Brewery

23/1/16

A brewery visit in Manchester. Located on Temperence Street about 10 minutes walk from Piccadilly station and located under one of the numerous railway arches.

Their website can be found here.

I spent a very pleasant couple of hours in here sheltering from the rain.

Steve Dunkley the brewer made me very welcome.

So here are some photos

The only pub festival during my stay in Manchester was at Microbar in the Arndale Centre.

As you can see from the poster, the Alphabet Beer Festival with breweries from A to Z.

I worked here on the thurdsay evening in the foyer 'clicking' visitors in and out.

My view of the festival

I took some photos of the festival itself once the public had left.

A very good venue in my opinion and yes I did get breaks to drink some beer,

A late decision to add this one in. Nearly 4 hours each way on train. Met a few friends there. Had about 3 hours drinking there.

Its 2016 now

3/1/16

First blog of the year. Thinking about going back to work tomorrow after 11 days away. That's enough of that, time to look ahead to the rest of the year.

Well the first part of the year will see me complete my Beer Festival Challenge. number 42 will on 9th January.

I am off to Manchester on 21st January for this beer festival, a few pub beer festivals as well I hope and some tram rides.

A fair bit of new track for me to cover including Manchester Airport, Rochadale and Ashton.

Then I have some 50th birthday celebrations to look forward to. Plans are coming together now.

In March a return visit to Leeds is a possibility as I enjoyed the Beer Festival there last year.

That will be followed by a few days in Liverpool again including the CAMRA National AGM.

April will see me visit my final challenge beer festival in Reading, which coincidentally was the first one of the challenge.

Then there is work to do on DT15, the bus I became a part owner of in May 2015. Not quite a vintage bus yet as it was new in April 1990, it needs a lot of work to restore it back to original as delivered condition, so that will occupy some of my time. see here for more about it.

Also a trip to Brum in June as I will be attending a conference with my trade union there.

A week in East Anglia travelling over new rail lines for me is an option for my Summer holiday.

Watercress Line turns will continue, bus rally visits and other random trips to look forward to.

That's all I can think about for now.
