A few hours in Newbury

Ascot Beer Festival Helpers trip part two.

After the brewery visit including lunch our coach dropped us off in Newbury.

First stop was a micropub, the Cow & Cask

A short walk took me to the King Charles Tavern

Then 2 Wetherspoon pubs,  The Diamond Tap and The Hatchet Inn.

Before 2 pubs in the market square I took some non pub photos

Hogshead was next. I noted on posters that this will soon become a Slug & Lettuce pub.

Then next door to the Waggon & Horses

Retracing my steps the next pub was the Catherine Wheel

I walked through the shopping centre to the Newbury (a gastropub)

Final pub was the Coopers Arms, currently being refurbished.

9 pubs including 6 Casque Marque pub ticks in 3 hours!

Ascot Beer Festival Helpers trip part one.

Located on the outskirts of Basingstoke on a trading estate is Longdog brewery.

As well as a few beers, lunch was had here as well.

A regular festival visited today. Used to be in town hall social club but now in a local school (KEGS).

Another new festival for me.

 

This was quite a challenging venue to photograph.
