Southern Class 442 Farewell Railtour

12/3/17

My first Railtour for a number of years.

my souvenir ticket (note the appropriate fare)

The tour utilised 2 class 442 electric multiple units and one class 73 diesel-electric locomotive at various times throughout the day.

The itinerary is shown below:

The tour started with single unit 2402 to Beckenham Junction and return leaving 2408 at platform 14 at Victoria.
2402

2408
At Beckenham Junction:

While we were stopped there I took some photos inside the Guards compartment:

Back to platform 14 at Victoria and the 2 units were coupled together for the run to Brighton.

At Brighton, the 2units split and 73202 was attached to 2402.

73202 approaches

After the 2 trips to Hove and Lovers Walk depot (2402+73202), I had an hour and 20 minutes to visit two pubs
2 beers had in Brighton Beer Dispensary

2 beers had in Craft

We had spent the day on unit 2402 so we decided to end the day on 2408. Both units worked Brighton to London Bridge, leaving 73202 at Brighton.
This was my final leg of the tour to London Bridge with photos taken there:
