Daytripper West Midlands 7 June 2018

A trip to Sutton Coldfield and Kings Norton.

I did a travelling around first and saw this interesting thing

Plan was to visit 2 pubs in Sutton Coldfield:

Brewhouse & Kitchen.

Next was to have been the Craft In but it wasn't opening until 1600, not 1400 as I had seen on internet so missed out.

A train to Kings Norton for an off licence and taproom called Cotteridge Wines.

a walk to the Wildcat

then to Bourneville station for a train to New St.

Another visit to Birmingham for my trade unions National Conference at the ICC

inside and the meeting hall

One of the highlights was a Brexit panel debate

Included on the panel was Hilary Benn MP, currently the chair of the parliamentary Exiting The European Union Select Committee. His opening remarks described the current process as a mess!

More info about this can be found here

Tony Hall, DG of the BBC also addressed Conference. See here

I also found time to visit ssome pubs ( see separate blog) and below are some general photos. The ICC's canalside location close to the Gas St Basin provided some interesting views.

This was the view from my hotel room on the 12th floor of Juty's Inn

I also photographed a colourful sunset from the corridor
