Friday 11th May
This event combines 2 of my hobbies. An early start was required as my friend Nigel who was driving us there wanted to travel on the 0800 Swanage to Norden train. Unfortunately 4 diesel locos couldn't get to the Gala so a resident steam loco (Standard 4 tank number 80104) was aditionally in service. I thoroughly enjoyed my day there. A few new beers were drunk and a new Dorset brewery callled Sunny Republic was added to the book. Some trains were also using platform 1 at Swanage which was new to me as well.
Anyway here is my report from the day:

The reason for getting the 0800 train from Swanage to Norden was that it was formed with a class 08 diesel shunter and Queen Mary brake van. Unusual and worth getting up early for. The journey took about 35 minutes by the way with about 20 passengers on board.
