A Vintage Bus Trip

5/12/13

An afternoon and evening trip with a 1961 Bristol MW. This was to celebrate Karl T's 50th birthday.

I joined the bus at Flitwick station.

First stop was the Albion at Ampthill for a pint of Wood Street Brewery - Filbert 4.2%

outside the pub

the bus departed from the other side of the road

Next stop was the Brewery Tap at Shefford and a pint of Stonehouse - KPA 4.6%

Third pub was the Engineers Arms in Henlow. No photos from here but I had a half of each Church End - Blue Norther 4%, Derventio - Mrs Claus 4% and Buntingford- Winter Gold 4.3%. This was the only place on the trip I had visited before.

Final pub stop was The Cock at Broom for a Caledonian - Autumn Red 4.4%

Lots of rooms at this pub.

The final place we visited was the Social Club at Rushden Transport Museum

Beer menu

We had a Mk2 TSO at the platform to drink in

Whilst there I had a pint of each of Copper Kettle - UXB 3.6% and Whistling Kite - Comfort & Joy 4.6%

And some photos taken around the station.

And then time to go home. The bus dropped us off at Bedford in time for the 2122 train to London.

Thanks to Karl for organising the trip. A great afternoon and evening out.
