Bournemouth In The Sun

 June 2022

I was appointed to be a volunteer steward at the Prospect National Conference in June 2022.

The conference was held in the Bournemouth International Centre from 12 to 14 June.

It will not surprise you that I managed to find time to visit some pubs.

11/6/22

Got off train at Pokesdown for Boscombe for 3 pubs.

First stop was the Wight Bear.

a micropub with a seperate snug at the rear

Then to the Brewhouse & Kitchen

Finally the Way Outback Brewing Tap.

the brewery is across the road

some photos at Pokesdown station

It was about a 25 minute walk from Bournemouth station to my hotel

A very comfortable room for 3 nights.

with a decent view

After meeting up with my fellow stewards and registering for the conference I then had time to visit a couple of pubs.

All Hail Ale

Poole Hill Brewery/Southbourne Ales

After conference more pubs to visit.

13/6/22

14/6/22

Conference finished at 1400 so on the way home I stopped off at 3 pubs in Christchurch.

and back to Christchurch station for trains home.

I enjoyed my time helping at the conference.

My favourite pubs were all micropubs: Wight Bear, Way Outback Brewery Bar, All Hail Ale and Saxon Bar.
