A day out to Gosport

Gosport bus rally and another opportunity for me to visit some new pubs.

I had the choice of three buses there (photo taken a Emsworth services)

After last sundays issues in Worthing i doule checked opening times for the pubs.

I got a bus from the rally site at Stokes Bay to Gosport Fery Terminal and Bus Station.

First one was the Four-Ale Taproom micropub.

A short walk to theQueen's Hotel

It was quite a long walk to the next pub but i took a number of what i thought were interesting things.

And eventually arrived at the Powder monkey Taproom.

Next stop was Clarence Tavern but that was closed.

 The final stop was the 33 Green Bottles micropub.

Bus back to rally site

And a choice of 4 buses home.

Great British Beer Festival 2022

 5/8/22

 

Am writing this after 3 days there. 

First thing I noticed was the building work taking place.

You can read more about the redevelopment here.

Tuesday and Wednesday I worked in the foyer area. The entrance area was much smaller than the one previously used. To mitigate this we opened at 11 to allow people in before the festival opened at 12. Unfortunately there were still long queues to get in at times.

On wednesday evening one of my friends invited me behind the scenes for a beer tasting.

The beer was Harveys Imperial Stout scoring 5/5 for me.

Waiting for a train home I took these photos

Thursday I was just drinking.

First beers to drink were sours.

A quick and final visit to the staff bar

Then rest of day drinking US cask beers
