Worthing Bus Rally again, time for some new pubs to visit in Worthing,
The day started off badly when the bus I was in developed a serious fault half a mile from the yard. A quick cut of the fan belt and reduced speed run back to the yard to swap buses.
Arrived at Worthing no problem. Time for a chat and then a short walk to Anchored micropub for 1200 opening.
'I was expecting you' was the greeting from Nigel the owner. Nigel managed local pubs and helped at Egham Beer Festival before opening Anchored in 2013. Always go to see him when in Worthing. Sells 3 cask beers, all from Sussex brewers.
Soon it was time for a walk through the town centre for a couple of new taprooms on the east side.
First one was Beer No Evil
Bugger. A slow walk then to the Old Bike Shed opening at 1.00.
Back through the town centre for next pub I spotted a friends bus in service.
Brewhouse & Kitchen
A long walk now to the other side of West Worthing station. Unfortunatelately Google Maps directed me to a locked gate. Retraced my steps and found the way in to the Hand brewery Tap. entrance is off of Canterbury Road, not Friar Walk.
Very good place in my humble opinion.
Fial stop was the Green Man micropub. Unfortunately i didn't check opening hours and arrived just after time had been called and was refused service.
10 new beers was still good. I then went back to the rally site and took a few bus photos and a train at West Worthing level crossing.
On the way hoe in the bus, the driver took a wrong turn. We stopped in the village of Slinfold for photos though.
