Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad

The title of this blog comes from the 1978 Meatloaf song from the excellent Bat Out Of Hell album.

The plan for the day was to visit 2 micropubs and one brewery taproon in South Hampshire.

I have had this trip in mind to do for a while. My sister who lives in Portchester needed my signature for some legal documents so we hatched a plan to meet in Fareham to do this.

After signing the documents and getting them in the post, we went to the Garden Shed Cafe for a drink and a chat. I had a mug of tea.

Tea finished, I said goodbye to my sister and walked across the road to my first beer venue as it opened at 1200.

I had 5 beers here and once had all 5 Untappd check-ins on the TV screen

One stop on the train from Fareham to Portchester for the next venue, the Portcullis micropub.

Disater! the pub wasn't opening until 4pm today, it would normally had been open.

I decided to go back to Portchester station and wait for the next train to Hilsea .

It's always reassuring to see a sign showing you are going in the right direction.

Urban Island Brewery was my final venue and it was open.

So I drunk in two out three planned venues hence the title of this blog.
