Bournemouth and Poole

Off to Bournemouth for

My hotel was good

with a pleasant view from my bedroom window

and a quaint old lift

After sorting things out at the hotel I got a train to Poole.

My favourite pub there was the Drift Micropub.

A fine selection of ales was available

A quick half at the Poole Arms

Then final pub in Poole was the Brewhouse and Kitchen.

AGM and Conference business.

 After Conference had finished a quick pub visit and visited the Member's Bar.



On my way back to my hotel I took some photos which came out rather well I think

After Conference concluded I had time for one final pub visit before getting a train home.

South East Bus Festival 2017

1/4/17

 Held at the Kent County Showground in Detling this was firsst visit here. I travelled there on preserved Metrobus M1069.

A bit of train riding to places and routes not done before. As my ticket didn't cover zones 6 and 7 I bought an additional Horsforth to Harrogate return ticket.

First train of the day was the 1000 Leeds to Knottingley with 142017

Train terminated at Knottingley

and then formed my next train

1053 Knottingley to Wakefield Kirkgate

Then the 10 minutes late 1151 to Leeds via Normanton and Castleford on 144021

A quick dash from platform 17a to 2b for the 1240 Leeds to Bradford Forster Square on 333003.

Bradford FS

Then onto 333004 for the 1316 to Guiseley via Baildon. Changed there for the 1352 back to Leeds on an unknown 333 unit.

142025 arrives at Leeds

Then on 142025 for the 1429 to Harrogate.

On walking to the first pub I saw this shop.

But I digress, the first pub was North Bar

followed by a short walk to the Little Ale House (a micropub)

Next stop was the Starling Independent Beer and Coffee House

Then Major Tom's Social

The Winter Gardens (Wetherspoons) and Hales Bar and fat Badger were next but no photos.

Final stop was the Harrogate Tap

Then 142025 again on the 1947 back to Leeds.
