The weather forecast looked good so I decided on a trip to London. My first stop on the train was Clapham Junction. Change for a London Overground train service to Canada Water. This means i have now travelled over the whole of the London Overground network. At Canada Water I changed to the Jubilee Line for the train to North Greenwich. This is where the southern point of the London Cable Car is or Emirates Air-Line to use its 'proper' name.
For more info about fares etc go the Transport For London website.
I did a single journey North Greenwich to Royal Docks.
I took quite a few photos and a selection are shown below:
I write about real ale drinking and pubs. The Watercress Line heritage railway. Preserved Leyland National buses. Co-owner of a preserved Dennis Dart bus. Also visiting other heritage railways, beer festivals and other trips. Comments welcome.

A few hours in York
Saturday 12th January 2013.
A day trip to York, taking advantage of cheap fares on East Coast Trains.
Due to engineering work the train was diverted between Doncaster and York via Knottingley in both dierctions so I got to travel over some unusual track. A number of beers were drunk and are listed at each pub. (half pints of each).
First pub to visit was the Postern Gate, a Wetherspoons pub. Located as the ground floor of a Travelodge, I declined to take a photo.
Beer1: Saltaire-White Christmas
Next was the Rook and Gaskill
Beer 2: Blue Bee-Nectar Pale
Opposite here was the Waggon & Horses which I wanted to visit. It advertised as opening at 12 but by 1215 was still closed so off to the next pub.
The Last Drop Inn owned by York brewery
Beer 3: York-Pacific Gem
Next stop Pivni.
Beer 4: Tempest-Wee Unforgiven
Beer 5: Mallinsons-Magnum Ella
Then to The Habit. Not been here before. Its a small cafe bar type place with 2 handpumps.
Beer 6: Hop Studio-There is Noel in Christmas
Beer 7: Yorkshire Heart-JRT Bitter
Then to the Old Starre Inn (no photos)
Beer 8: Cullingham Ales-Artisan's Choice
Another new outlet next. The House of Trembling Madness is a bar above an off licence.
Beer 9: Revolutions-Beat Red
The Guy Fawkes was the next stop.
Beer 10: Great Heck-Dark Force Treason
Then a quick stop to take pictures of the local church
And then off to another York brewery pub, The Three Legged Mare.
Beer 11: York - Ghost
I then took a walk along the side of the River Ouse to the next pub and took some more photos.
And arrived at the Bay Tree Inn.
Beer 12: Copper Dragon- North Star
More photos of York walking to the next pub.
Then to the Maltings, newly refurbished and extended.
Beer 13: Peakstones-Pugins Gold
Beer 14: Roosters-Black Math
Next stop Brigantes.
Beer 15: Great Heck-Dr Rudi
Finally it was time to head back to the station
Luckily there is now a pub on the station called the York Tap.
Beer 16: Brass Castle- Q Queenie
Beer 17: Brass Castle- Burnout
I then took some photos while waiting for my train to arrive.
