A trip to London to photograph 5 Underground stations for my Summer Challenge

 24/6/23

This blog details my travels and will include links to 5 seperate blogs, 1 for each station.

Lots of bits and pieces here.

I'll start at Marylebone station as i had time before my train depated. I enjoyed composing this shot. Wandering around I wondered if I could a half decent photo of the street name and station. Marylebone was  the London terminus of the Great Central Railway for those non railway buffs.

More photos outside Marylebone station.

There is a covered walkway across the from the Landmark Hotel ( built as the Hotel Grand Central.

There is an hourly Chiltern Railways service from Marylebone to Harrow on The Hill and I caught the 1127 departure for a 12 minute journey.

Here is a link to my Harrow on the Hill blog.

From Harrow on the Hill i caught a Metropilitan Line train to Rayners Lane

Then a Piccadilly Line train to Sudbury Town

Here is a link to my Sudbury town blog.

Two stops eastbound on the Piccadilly Line took me to Park Royal.

Here are some photos of other buildings there that caught my eye.

From there I walked to Westminster station to get a Jubilee Line train one stop to Waterloo and a pint in the Wellington Hotel before catching the train home. 14000 steps walked and 168 photos taken.

The 6th station of my Summer Challenge is St James's Park. Incorporated into the magnificent 55 Broadway building all designed by Charles Holden. It is now a Grade1 listed building.

The fifth station of my Summer Challenge is Acton Town.
