Leytonstone Pubs

 17/6/23

After photographing Redbridge Station I got a Central Line train 2 stops to Leytonstone for a wander to a few pubs.

As I got off the trian I saw the end of the RAF Flypast for Trooping The Colour.

First stop was the North Star

Then The Birds. Only keg beer available on my visit

The Red Lion

A 15 minute walk took me to Leytonstone Tavern (walking past the next pub)

A quick check to make sure I'm in the right place

The Mammoth Tap. The Mammoth brewery is actually in Hackney but this is their brewery taproom unusually situated in a railway arch.

The nearest station is Leytonstone High Road on Gospel Oak to Barking Riverside Line. (Note to self: Still need to travel over the new bit of track Barking to Barking Riverside).

Then finally the Filly Brook

no photo of bar - I forgot.

Also be aware that this bar has a discretionary service charge.

An interesting variety of pubs and bars was found here.

My favourite pub was the North Star, a graet back street pub but overall the Mammoth Tap was top.
