Phantom Brewery revisited

 1/4/23

 My original plan for the day was to go the South East Bus Festival at Detling in Kent. Unfortunately the event was cancelled.

Instead I decided that it would be a good opportunity to revisit Phantom Brewing's taproom in Reading.

This has been on my to-do list for a while as they have opened a second bar since my previous visits (14 March 2020 and 25 July 2020) My blog for first visit is here.

First though I stopped for a couple of thirds in the Greyfriar to kill a few minutes before the opening time of 1300 at Phantom.

Just after 1300 I arrived at Phantom.

 Only 20 beers wer available!

Bar staff were very helpful as they would get beer from other bar if you wanted.

I spent a very pleasant few hours there before going home.

Blog Changes

Just been making some changes to my blog layout.

I wanted to add some new features and rearrange existing ones. I also changed the overall theme and font.

Two Brewery Taprooms in Windsor

My first visits to 2 taprooms in Windsor.

 First was the Unit4 taproom at Windsor & Eton Brewery.

 Nearly there. It was a 10-15 minutes walk from Windsor & Eton Riverside station. My walking route was via the riverside avoiding the town centre and castle area.

Its next to the railway line from Windsor to Slough.

An unasuming entrance leads to a large bar area.

Then a 5 minutes walk to the Two Flints.

After the photo stop I arrived.

I will be returning to these two places later in the year as another brewery is planned to open next door to Three Flints.

A great choice of beers brewed on the premises and guest beers in both places made this a very enjoyable few hours.

London Bridge station (high level)

Waiting for my train to Waterloo East I took a few photos here.

Since a £1 billion refurbishment completed in 2018 the station is much brighter with step free access to all platforms.

Not much more to say except I hope you like the photos.

Deptford

A litlle trip to Deptford to visit the Dog & Bell for their Irish Beer Festival.

Its been a kong time since my last visit and the pub has changed considerably (for the better),

I knew I was close to the pub when I saw rhis!
 

After about a 10 minute walk from Deptford station I arrived at the pub.

10 cask beers from Ireland were available.

I had 8 beers off the list.

Before going home i went to Salt, a beer and pizza bar.

Three beers drunk in here, then home.

Outside bar I noticed this:
