A visit to Wokingham - it doesn't always go to plan

 20/4/22

So the plan was to visit 2 new pubs to me in Wokingham plus one that had changed owners.

All started well at the first pub, The Outhouse.

A brewpub, home of the Outhouse brewery.

I had 6 beers here

Then on to the Lord Raglan, now run the Big Smoke brewery.

Two beers here.

Final of the 3 pubs to visit was Sit & Sip. Closed due to technical issues.

Took a couple of photos

Decision time now, do i go to the Crispin or carry on the station and look in a couple of pubs to see if anything new for me. I chose the latter.

the Queens Head had one new beer for me, Stardust - Roast Note

Then to Station Tap for this one

Upon arrival at the station, more trouble. A complete power failure to the signalling equipment meant no trains were running between Reading and Ascot.

To cut a long story short, I got a service bus from Wokingham to Bracknell, SWR paid for a taxi Bracknell to Ascot, then train from Ascot to Egham. i ended up just over an hour later home than planned.

So just for a change the plan didn't work. See here for more info on beers I had.

Godalming and Guildford April 2022

 16/4/22

A visit to the Star in Godalming for their Easter Beer Festival.

Beers were served at the main bar and rear bar.

The pub is also home to the Godalming Beer Works brewery pictured below:

Their first beer was available free of charge as the brewing process didn't go quite right.

The beer list is here.

A couple of friends suggested going to Growlers and cans in Guildford wich I did.

Then home.

Hastings Pubs April 2022

 8/4/22

As the pubs I wanted to visit in Hastings didn't open until 1200 I decided to visit a couple of places in St Leonards that opened at 1100. I got on the 1016 train from Eastbourne.

First up was Collected Fictions, an excellent micropub.

Then I went to heist market for the Three Legs brewery bar.

Unfortunately it didn't open until 1200 so I decided to get the train to Hastings.

First stop in Hastings was the Eel & Bear micropub.

Prince Albert was just round the corner

Next on my list was Twelve Hundred Postcards but that didn't open until 1600 so onto the Brothers Brewing brewpub.

Then up and down a lot of steps to get to the Old Town.

First pub here was the Jenny Lind

Then the Crown where I chatted with a friend from Portsmouth.

Dolphin next

It was the perfect timing to visit the Jolly Fisherman that opened at 1600.

Albion

White Rock Hotel

Finally the Brothers Brewing Courtyard

And train back to Eastbourne
